Community Health Outreach
HIRDA places communities at the centre of service delivery for effective healthcare detection, referral and support at the village level. We work in collaboration to cultivate community ownership to ensure that project implementation is sustained by the communities’ goodwill and leverages existing initiatives and leadership. Working through village health and education committees, we continue to build partnerships for reaching vulnerable and marginalised populations that lack access to mainstream health systems.
Our outreach engages community educators to mobilise households for mosquito net distribution, immunisation, and referrals to nearby health facilities. Community educators also serve as an important link between the community and mobile teams and help facilitate project handover for a smooth transition when partner involvement ends.
